Position Title: Civilian Investigator – Human Trafficking

Reports To: Chief of Human Trafficking   SUPERVISES: N/A

SALARY:­ $45 Hourly Rate – Contract – Independent Contractor – No Benefits

Full Time – potential to job share between 2 individuals if necessary.

This position is Grant funded.

Summary:

The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office seeks to conduct thorough, ethical and robust human trafficking investigations and prosecutions. To that end, our Office is seeking a highly qualified and motivated Civilian Investigator. The Civilian Investigator will be responsible for assisting with investigations into allegations of human trafficking in Plymouth County, including commercial sex and labor trafficking involving minors and adults.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Necessary:

· BA/BS from accredited institution

· At least 5 years experience with complex criminal and/or civil investigations

· Ability to form investigative plans

· Demonstrated ability to obtain relevant information from a variety of documentary, database and other online sources

· Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial documentation

· Demonstrated ability to analyze cellular, computer and other electronic forensic extraction data

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to work well collaboratively

· Ability to meet deadlines

· Demonstrated ability to meet ethical obligations

Desired:

· Experience working on victim-based investigations

· Interest in working on human trafficking investigations

Duties and Responsibilities

· Perform complex criminal investigations into allegations of commercial sex and labor trafficking in Plymouth County involving both adults and minors. The Investigator will report to the Chief Prosecutor of the Human Trafficking Unit and will work with the Human Trafficking Unit team to:

· Identify potential cases of human trafficking;

· Identifying potential victims, witnesses and contributors connected with incidences of human trafficking in Plymouth County;

· Develop investigative plans for allegations of human trafficking;

· Assist in obtaining biographical, contact and geographical information for victims, witnesses and contributors of human trafficking;

· Draft legal subpoenas for obtaining financial records, telecommunications records, social media and third-party communication records, and other necessary records;

· Conduct public records research;

· Analyze records including financial, telecommunications, social media and third-party communication records;

· Analyze cellular, computer and other electronic forensic extraction data;

· Review video and other evidence;

· Communicate findings clearly and effectively to assistant district attorney

· Document findings in written reports;

· Provide testimony to grand jury, district and superior courts regarding results of analysis

· Attend Plymouth County Human Trafficking Task Force meetings;

· Serve subpoenas

· Other duties as needed
