BROCKTON – Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz will join U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz and the Brockton Public Schools on Wednesday to present “Your Future, Your Decision.”

The U.S. Attorney’s Office developed “Your Future, Your Decision” in 2011 following a significant gang, gun and drug takedown in Lynn. The program, which has been presented to more than 5,000 middle-schoolers statewide, offers resources to teens in cities and communities that may have a need for more positive role models and safe, social activities.

“Teens today are faced with unimaginable social pressures that often make their goals and dreams seem out-of-reach,” DA Cruz said. “I am proud to be a part of this effort with US Attorney Ortiz to reach out to the kids of Brockton and introduce resources that they may not have given thought to or explored.”

Students will be motivated by a series of speakers including DA Cruz, US Attorney Ortiz, Brockton Superintendent of Schools Kathleen A. Smith and guest speaker Lashon Amado. Afterwards, students will head to a fair where a wide range of area organizations will offer their activities and resources up to the children.
