Comfort Dogs Study Presentation at our Annual HWC Conference

Dr. Leslie Sattler, PH.d, from Bridgewater State University and the Plymouth County Comfort Dogs Program handlers shared research on the impact comfort dogs have, especially on children exposed to trauma, and their positive impact on school climate at our 2026 Handle With Care Conference, held at Bridgewater State University.

Public Access Skills Training at Bridgewater State University

Comfort Dog Teams joined our trainer Donna Culbert for a training to teach our comfort dogs how to access public spaces. This training focused on building public access skills and exposures. Our comfort dog teams visited multiple venues on the campus.




Training at the Night to Shine Prom- Pembroke, MA

Our Comfort Dogs were invited to train at “A Night to Shine Prom”. Our trainer Donna Culbert worked with our puts at this complimentary dinner dance for disabled individuals.

Canine Body Language Training

Our Plymouth County Comfort Dog Teams were trained in Canine Body Language. This training was conducted by Trainer Mike MacCurtain at Five Rings Day School in Hanover, Ma.







Cocoa & Cram- Rockland High School
January 15, 2026
Our Plymouth County Comfort Dogs were invited to join Rockland High School’s staff for a Cocoa & Cram session. The Cocoa & Cram Session is an opportunity for students to get together in the school library to study for their upcoming midterms. The school provided snacks, drinks and hot cocoa for the students. Our comfort dogs were on hand to allow the students to take a break from the stressors of studying and relax by interacting with the dogs before getting back on track.

Annual Teddy Bear Toss- Training at Bridgewater Ice Arena

Our Plymouth County Comfort Dogs were on hand for a training at the Bridgewater Ice Arena as the Middleboro/Carver/Wareham Sachems took on the East Bridgewater /West Bridgewater/Cardinal Spellman Co-Op hockey team at the annual Teddy Bear Toss Fundraiser Game. Friends and Supporters brought stuffed animals to toss onto the ice. The stuffed animals were collected and will be donated to our area first responders to assist children involved in traumatic events.

Comfort Dog Presentation and Meet & Greet at St. Bridget’s School, Abington

District Attorney Tim Cruz and Hanson SRO Derek Harrington presented on the Plymouth County Comfort Dogs Program to grades 1-5 students and staff at St. Bridget’s School in Abington. After the presentation, students participated in a meet & greet with Abington Officer Morgan & Harlow, Hanson Officer Harrington & Ziva, Whitman Sgt. Harrington & Nola and Hanover Officer McKeever & Lainey.

Santa Claus is coming to the Range

The Plymouth County Comfort Dogs Program was invited to conduct a training and a demonstration during this annual community event. Children from all across Plymouth County were invited to participate in this annual holiday event. Festivities also included touch a truck, letters to Santa, Hot Chocolate and cookies.

Shop with a Cop- Halifax Walmart
December 19, 2025
The Plymouth County Comfort Dogs Program was invited to train at the first annual Shop with a Cop event at Walmart in Halifax. The comfort dog teams and the Halifax Police Department were able to spend time with the kids shopping, laughing and joking while everyone enjoyed delicious pizza from Cape Cod Cafe. A huge thank you to Halifax Police and Walmart for sponsoring this event and allowing us to shop in their store. A big shout out to Cape Cod Cafe for generously donating the pizzas to feed everyone. Your kindness is greatly appreciated. Another big shout out to McQuarrie Towing & Recovery for stopping by and surprising the kids with a special donation that made their experience even more memorable. Without the support of everyone involved, this event would not be possible. The Halifax Police Department is looking forward to continuing this tradition for many years to come.

Hingham Police Holiday Luncheon for Seniors

District Attorney Cruz and several Plymouth County Comfort Dogs and their handlers joined Chief David Jones, SRO Tom Ford and Hingham Comfort Dog Opry at the annual Hingham Police Holiday Luncheon for Seniors. Seniors were treated to a holiday lunch courtesy of the Hingham Police Association. DA Cruz and Chief Jones informed the seniors about our comfort dogs program.
