PLYMOUTH  – A man and a woman were arraigned today on charges stemming from a child sex crime investigation, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.

Today, Daniel Forand, 37, and Samantha Pelrine, 31, who are married, were arraigned in Plymouth District Court. Forand was charged with six counts of Indecent Assault and Battery, 12 counts of Aggravated Rape of a Child, and one count each of Assault and Battery, and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. Pelrine was charged with three counts of Aggravated Rape of a Child, and one count of Statutory Rape. Both pleaded not guilty to the charges. The Commonwealth requested that the couple be held on $250,000 cash bail with the conditions that, should they make bail, they have no contact with the victim, have no contact with children under the age of 18, they surrender all firearms, remain in Massachusetts, and surrender their passports. Plymouth District Court Judge Kristen Stone set bail at $25,000 for Forand, and $10,000 for Pelrine. Judge Stone adopted the Commonwealth’s conditions.

On March 15, an adult male victim came into the Massachusetts State Police Barracks in Middleborough to report that he had been sexually assaulted, first by Forand and then by Forand and Pelrine together, on numerous occasions from 2018-2025.

As a result of the investigation, Massachusetts State Police yesterday sought and obtained arrest warrants for Pelrine and Forand. They were taken into custody at their home this morning at 6 a.m. by members of the Massachusetts State Police Plymouth County Detective Unit, MSP Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section, MSP Troop D Detectives, and US. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force.

The pair are next scheduled to appear in court on June 8th.

Assistant District Attorney James Duffy is prosecuting the case.
