Arrangementer for samfunnsengasjement

Til nå har statsadvokat Tim Cruz skaffet til veie over 27 millioner dollar i tilskuddsmidler til lokalsamfunnene i Plymouth County. Både i og utenfor rettssalen jobber statsadvokat Cruz og hans medarbeidere hardt for å øke bevisstheten blant innbyggerne i Plymouth County, slik at de bedre kan beskytte seg selv. 

Statsadvokat Cruz og hans stab gjennomfører rutinemessig opplæring i cybersikkerhet, programmer for bevisstgjøring om narkotika og alkohol og presentasjoner om tenåringsforhold for elever og foreldre, slik at de kan ta smarte valg. Gjennom sitt Childhood Trauma Initiative fortsetter statsadvokat Cruz å lære opp skoler i sitt "Handle with Care"-program og andre traumesensitive metoder for å gi bedre hjelp til barn med negative barndomsopplevelser (ACE) og barn som er i faresonen for å ruse seg. I tillegg har statsadvokat Cruz opprettet og implementert Plymouth County Comfort Dogs-programmet, som gjør det mulig å ha trøstehunder tilgjengelig for å hjelpe ikke bare i lokalsamfunnet, men i alle lokalsamfunn i hele Plymouth County.

Statsadvokat Cruz arbeider for å beskytte eldre i samarbeid med fylkets TRIAD-programmer. Under pandemien arrangerte statsadvokat Cruz regelmessig virtuell opplæring for eldre for å gi dem informasjon og ressurser om hvordan de kan beskytte seg mot svindlere.

Statsadvokat Cruz støtter ulike programmer for gjenopprettende rett, og samarbeider med sheriffen i Plymouth County om å arrangere jobbmesser for personer som har vært involvert i rettsvesenet.

Statsadvokat Cruz samarbeider også med grupper i lokalsamfunnet for å løse problemer som vold i hjemmet, alkoholbruk blant mindreårige, opioider og overgrep mot eldre, i et forsøk på å gjøre Plymouth County til et trygt sted å bo og arbeide.

    District Attorney Cruz and is proud to support Rucks 2 Pucks in breaking the ice on veteran suicide. 

    DA Cruz and Sheriff McDonald laced up their skates and joined the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Hockey team as they took on the Rucks 2 Pucks in an exhibition game.

     

     

     

     

     

     

  • Cocoa & Cram-Rockland High School

    Rockland High School Cocoa & Cram 10Our Plymouth County Comfort Dogs were invited to join Rockland High School’s staff for a Cocoa & Cram session. The Cocoa & Cram Session is an opportunity for students to get together in the school library to study for their upcoming midterms. The school provided snacks, drinks and hot cocoa for the students. Our comfort dogs were on hand to allow the students to take a break from the stressors of studying and relax by interacting with the dogs before getting back on track.

  • The Annual Teddy Bear Toss at Bridgewater Ice Arena

    District Attorney Tim Cruz and our Plymouth County Comfort Dogs were on hand for a training at the Bridgewater Ice Arena as the Middleboro/Carver/Wareham Sachems took on the East Bridgewater /West Bridgewater/Cardinal Spellman Co-Op hockey team at the annual Teddy Bear Toss Fundraiser Game. Friends and Supporters brought stuffed animals to toss onto the ice. The stuffed animals were collected and will be donated to our area first responders to assist children involved in traumatic events.

     

     

     

     

     

     

  • Plymouth County Comfort Dogs Presentation and Meet & Greet at St. Bridget’s School, Abington

    District Attorney Tim Cruz and Hanson SRO Derek Harrington presented on the Plymouth County Comfort Dogs Program to grades 1-5 students and staff at St. Bridget’s School in Abington. After the presentation, students participated in a meet & greet with Harlow, Ziva, Nola and Lainey.
