Two Arrests Made, MSP, Brockton Police Continue Search For Gunman In Fatal Shooting

BROCKTON – Two men are under arrest, and Massachusetts State Police and Brockton Police continue to search for a third suspect who allegedly fatally shot his brother, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.

Yesterday at approximately 2:17 a.m., Brockton Police received a 911 call for a report of a shooting inside a home at 36 Hoover Avenue. Police and emergency medical personnel responded, and located a male party who was shot in the chest. He was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital where he was pronounced dead of his injuries. He has been identified as 27 year-old Sedrick Abreu.

Yesterday, members of Plymouth SPDU, Brockton Police, State Police Crime Scene Services Section, State Police Ballistics, and State Police Crime Lab executed a search warrant at 36 Hoover Avenue. Several items of evidentiary value were secured as evidence, and two men were arrested and charged with Accessory to the Homicide. Sirick Amado, 24, and Antonio Dejesus, 26, are expected to appear in Brockton District Court for arraignment today.

As a result of the ongoing and active investigation, State Police sought and obtained an arrest warrant for the shooting suspect, Jeremiah Abreu, 20, who is the brother of the victim. The investigation remains ongoing.
