Victims Identified, Investigation Ongoing in East Bridgewater Fatal Crash

BROCKTON – The investigation into what caused the fatal crash that killed four young men yesterday in East Bridgewater is ongoing by State Police and East Bridgewater Police, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz and East Bridgewater Police Chief Scott Allen have announced.

At approximately 4:06 pm on Saturday, East Bridgewater Police received 911 calls for a report of a car into a tree at 558 West Street/Route 106. East Bridgewater Police and fire responded and found a single motor vehicle with five male occupants. Three of the occupants in the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. Those victims have been identified as Christopher Desir, 17, of Brockton, Eric Sarblah, 17, of Stoughton and Nick Joyce, 16, of Stoughton.

An additional crash victim was transported to Brockton Hospital where he was pronounced dead. He has been identified as David Bell, 17, of Stoughton

The 17-year-old driver of the vehicle was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton before he was transported to Boston Medical Center where he remains being treated. He is not being identified at this time.

East Bridgewater Police notified State Police Detectives in the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and the State Police CARS Unit to investigate and that investigation is active and ongoing. Investigators are looking at all factors in the crash, including weather and speed.

State Police, East Bridgewater Police and Fire and all first responders are to be commended for their efforts in this tragic crash.
