BROCKTON – A brother and sister have been indicted on charges that they set fire to a Brockton home, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.
Late yesterday, a Plymouth County Grand Jury returned indictments charging Jonathan Jironvil (DOB: 3/17/97) of Worcester with three counts each of Attempted Murder, Malicious Destruction of Property and Witness Intimidation. His sister, Lucnalie Jironvil (DOB: 02/14/96) of Amherst, was indicted on one count each of Arson and Malicious Destruction of Property and three counts of Attempted Murder.
The indictments follow a joint investigation by the Brockton Police Department, Brockton Fire Department and State Police assigned to the Office of the State Fire Marshal into a fire at 66 Sinclair Road in Brockton. At approximately 2:30 a.m. on July 18, 2019, Brockton Police received several 911 calls for a report of a structure fire in a home. Upon arrival, Brockton Fire officials found the home completely consumed in flames and immediately commenced fire suppression operations. Flames covered the front, back and right side of the building and the fire extended into the attic and crawl space. The home was destroyed, and a neighboring home suffered damage as a result of the fire. Three women in the home at the time that the fire started were able to escape the flames safely.
Through their investigation, officials found that the fire had been intentionally set by Jonathan and Jironvil and Lucnalie Jironvil, who previously lived at the Sinclair Road home, and they were placed under arrest.
The pair are scheduled to be arraigned in Superior Court on the charges at a later date.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Alexander Zane and was investigated by Brockton Police Department, Brockton Fire Department and State Police assigned to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
