Hingham Police Comfort Dog Opry
About Opry:
Opry is Hingham Police Department’s Comfort Dog. She is the first member of the Plymouth County Comfort Dog Program. District Attorney Cruz awarded the Hingham Police Department a Comfort Dog Pilot Program mini-grant in the Spring of 2021, and the Plymouth County Comfort Dogs Program was born.
Opry, born in 2021, is a mixed-breed rescued from the kill line in Texas. Opry was donated by PAWS New England. She received her training from Donna’s Do-Right Dogs LLC.
Opry is a rockstar… she knows how to skateboard, say hello and goodbye. You will often see Opry sporting one of her many costumes.
Opry resides with Hingham PD’s School Resource Officer Tom Ford and his family.
Fun Facts:
Opry knows how to skateboard and is often seen skateboarding past classrooms.
Opry loves to dress up.

Hanson Police Comfort Dog Ziva
About Ziva:
Ziva, born in 2022, is Hanson Police Department’s newest comfort dog. She is the ninth member of the Plymouth County Comfort Dog Program.
Ziva is an English Creme Golden Retriever acquired and trained by Golden Opportunities for Independence (GOFI)
Ziva resides with Hanson PD’s School Resource Officer Derek Harrington and his family.

Hanson Police Comfort Dog Lucy
About Lucy:
Lucy, born in 2022, was the Hanson Police Department’s first Comfort Dog. She served during the 2022-2023 school year. Lucy was a beloved member of the Plymouth County Comfort Dog Program, but was forced into retirement due to a serious medical condition.
Lucy was the second member of our program. She was an English Creme Golden Retriever from Golden Opportunities for Independence (GOFI).
On August 24, 2023 with a heavy heart, the Hanson Police Department announced the End of Watch for Lucy. Lucy resided with Hanson PD’s School Resource Officer Derek Harrington and his family. We offer Officer Harrington, his family and the entire Hanson Police Department our sincerest condolences.

Abington Police Comfort Dog Harlow
About Harlow:
Harlow is the Abington Police Department’s Comfort Dog, he is the third member of the Plymouth County Comfort Dog Program.
Harlow, born in 2022, is a Yellow Labrador Retriever and was a gift to the department from Patrice Anderson. Harlow received his training at 5 Rings Pet Resort. Harlow is bilingual. He understands commands in English, Spanish, and also understands hand signals.
Harlow resides with Abington PD’s School Resource Officer Gladys Morgan and her family.

Lainey, born in 2022, is a Yellow Labrador Retriever from Mallard Point Labradors. Lainey received her training at 5 Rings Pet Resort.

Mikey is the Bridgewater State University Police Department’s Comfort Dog. She is the fifth member of the Plymouth County Comfort Dog Program.
Mikey, born in 2020, is an American Black Labrador Retriever acquired and trained by Puppies Behind Bars.
Mikey resides with Bridgewater State University PD’s Detective Sergeant Robert McEvoy and his family.

Peddocks is the Hull Police Department’s Comfort Dog. Peddocks is the seventh member of the Plymouth County Comfort Dog Program.
Peddocks, born in 2022, is a Black Labrador Retriever acquired from and trained by Professional Canine Services.
Peddocks resides with Hull PD’s Community Outreach Officer Leanne Marshalsea and her family.

Peddocks came in first place during the 1st Annual DARE Camp Plymouth County Comfort Dogs Race, beating Opry by a paw!

About Nola:
Nola, born in 2023 is the Whitman Police Department’s Comfort Dog. She is the eighth member of the Plymouth County Comfort Dog Program.

Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department Comfort Dog Starr
About Starr:
Starr, was acquired by the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department in March 2023. Starr is a Great Dane, born in 2019. She has received her training from Professional Canine Services.
Starr became our tenth member of the Plymouth County Comfort Dogs Program in July 2023. Starr resides with K9 Deputy Dennis Desroches and his family.

About Aggie:
Aggie, born in 2023 is the Plympton Police Department’s Comfort Dog. She is the eleventh member of the Plymouth County Comfort Dog Program. Aggie joined our program in October 2023.
Aggie is a Red Labrador Retriever acquired from and trained by Professional Canine Services.

About Teddy:
Teddy, born in 2023 is the Norwell Police Department’s Comfort Dog. He is the fifteenth member of the Plymouth County Comfort Dog Program.
Teddy is a Yellow Labrador Retriever acquired from and trained by Professional Canine Services.
Teddy resides with Sgt. Dan Dooley and his family.
Fun Fact:
Comfort Dog Teddy was named after Norwell Officer Ted Baldwin, who served on the department from 1956-1988. Officer Baldwin remained active in the Norwell Community until his death in 2019. Teddy will help support the close-knit community relationships that Officer Baldwin believed in.

About Eamon:
Eamon, born in 2022 is the Plymouth Police Department’s Comfort Dog. He is the sixteenth member of the Plymouth County Comfort Dog Program.
Eamon is an American Golden Labrador Retriever, born in Templeton, MA.
Eamon lives with his handler, Plymouth Officer Greg Lapollo, and his family.

Scituate Police Department’s Comfort Dog Blue
About Blue:
Blue, born in 2024 is the Scituate Police Department’s Comfort Dog. He is the eighteenth member of the Plymouth County Comfort Dog Program.
Blue is a Black English Labrador Retriever donated by Pacheco Kennels in Raynham, MA. Blue will receive his trining from Professional Canine Services.
Blue resides with Scituate PD’s Community Impact Officer Taylor Billings and his family.

Bridgewater State University Comfort Dog Zach
About Zach:
Zach is the Bridgewater State University Police Department’s Community Resource / Comfort Dog. He is the nineteenth member of the Plymouth County Comfort Dogs Program.
Zach, born in 2020, is an American Black Labrador Retriever acquired and trained by Puppies Behind Bars. In addition to being a Community Resource / Comfort Dog, Zach is certified in explosives detection and is trained on over 40 odors.
Zach resides with Bridgewater State University PD’s Captain Ryan Tepper and his family.
Fun Facts:
Zach’s favorite activities are playing fetch and tug of war. He also loves searching for odors.
