BROCKTON – A Milton man has been indicted on charges he possessed more than 100 pounds of Marijuana and kept it in a Lakeville self-storage facility, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz announced today.
Christopher A. Connolly (DOB: 08/17/73) of Milton, was indicted on one count each of Possession with Intent To Distribute a Class D Substance, Marijuana, subsequent offense, and Trafficking in over 100 pounds of Marijuana.
On October 19, 2015, the Homeland Security Investigations High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force (HIS HIDTA) received a tip that an ABF moving Pod at the ABF yard in Bridgewater contained illegal narcotics. The Task Force, along with Massachusetts State Police brought in a K9 Officer and K9 who alerted to the odor of narcotics in one of the pods. The Task Force followed the ABF vehicle that delivered the pod to Space Safe Self Storage on Harding Street in Lakeville. The Task Force monitored the storage facility and observed Connolly as he accessed the pod. Connolly came with keys he used to open the storage unit and pod and began transferring boxes from the pod to storage unit. Officers approached Connolly and he was placed under arrest. Police found him with $512 in cash, three cell phones and a card from the storage facility with the pin code for the gate.
The Task Force recovered 216 vacuum sealed bags of suspected Marijuana. The bags contained labels with the names, “Barry White,” “Stinky Pinky” and “Trainwreck,” often used by traffickers to distinguish between strains, potency and price of their products. The sealed bags were transported to the State Police Crime Lab for drug analysis. Connolly denied ownership and knowledge of the contents of the boxes and stated he was doing a favor for a friend.
The case was investigated by HIS HIDTA and State Police.
