BROCKTON –A man and a woman were indicted today in Plymouth County Superior Court on organized retail crime charges stemming from October incidents at Sephora locations in Hingham and Hanover, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.

Ana Lucia Pacheco, 20, and Kevin Jhonalerth Pereira Morales, 24, are both charged with one count each of Aggravated Organized Retail Crime. Pacheco pleaded not guilty in February to related charges in Hingham District Court, while Morales remains out of custody. A warrant has been issued for his arrest following today’s Superior Court indictment.

In October 2024, Hanover Police were contacted by a loss prevention officer assigned to national retailer Sephora. The officer reported that a female suspect—captured in store surveillance footage shoplifting at Sephora locations in Hingham and Hanover on October 15—had recently been arrested for shoplifting at a Sephora in Pennsylvania. The surveillance footage showed Pacheco working in concert with other suspects, including Morales, to steal merchandise from both Massachusetts locations.

Investigators determined that $6,850 worth of merchandise was stolen from the Hingham Sephora, while $5,097 was taken from the Hanover location, for a combined total of $11,947 in stolen merchandise.

Additional incidents involving the same suspects have been identified across the Commonwealth. On October 2, 2024, Pacheco and Morales stole $2,126 in merchandise from an Ulta in Northborough, followed less than an hour later by a $4,655 theft from an Ulta in Framingham. That same evening, they entered an Ulta in Braintree and stole $1,899 in high-end products. The next day, they were captured on surveillance at an Ulta in Woburn stealing approximately $4,600 in cosmetics and fragrances. The pair were also linked to two thefts at an Ulta in Westwood — one on July 11 where $300 in merchandise was stolen and another on October 15 where $213 in merchandise was stolen.

Hanover Police contacted the Massachusetts State Police Information Network, and an investigation commenced. As a result, detectives developed probable cause and obtained an arrest warrant for Pacheco. She was taken into custody in Pennsylvania by Massachusetts State Police and returned to the Commonwealth to face charges.

Pacheco will be scheduled to appear for her Superior Court arraignment at a later date. Law enforcement continues efforts to locate and apprehend Morales so that he may also face prosecution for these alleged offenses.

In January 2024, District Attorney Cruz established an Organized Retail Crime Task Force within the PCDAO to collaborate with retailers, Chambers of Commerce, law enforcement, and other partners to combat store theft. Our office takes this issue seriously and remains committed to pursuing justice for those affected by organized retail crime.
