PLYMOUTH – An Everett man has been convicted of child rape charges, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz announced today.
After a three-day trial in Plymouth Superior Court, a jury deliberated three hours before convicting David A. Torrey (DOB: 09/26/62) Thursday afternoon. Torrey was convicted of 12 counts of Rape of a Child by Force and one count of Dissemination of Obscene Material to a Minor. Torrey is scheduled to be sentenced on December 18 at 9 am.
On April 29, 2014, Kingston Police were contacted by the victim, now an adult, who came forward to report a long history of past abuse by Torrey, his stepfather. Torrey was indicted on the charges on July 25, 2014.
Assistant District Attorney Shanan Buckingham prosecuted the case, which was investigated by Kingston Police.
