BROCKTON – An East Falmouth man has died as a result of injuries that he sustained in a crash while riding a dirt bike, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz announced today.
At approximately 9:15 am yesterday, Kingston Police received a 911 call for a report of a dirt bike crash along Bishops Highway in Kingston, an area with a dirt bike path. Kingston Police and emergency medical personnel responded and found a male victim with life threatening injuries. The victim was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Plymouth where he was pronounced dead of his injuries at 10:19 am. The male has been identified as Elias Aparecido Djalma De Sousa Dias, 21, of East Falmouth.
Kingston Police contacted State Police Detectives in the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office to investigate. Preliminarily, it appears from the damage at the scene that Dias struck two trees while riding at the time of the crash. He was wearing a helmet, eyewear and a padded riding suit. There is no foul play suspected.
