State Police, Brockton Police Investigating Double Shooting That Left One Dead, Another Wounded

BROCKTON – State Police and Brockton Police are continuing their investigation into an overnight double shooting that left one man dead and another man wounded, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.

This morning, at approximately 12:27 am, Brockton Police received multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting at Madrid Square in Brockton. Brockton Police and emergency medical personnel arrived on scene and found two male victims with gunshot wounds. One male victim was determined to be dead at the scene. He has been identified as 31-year-old Jamari Leblanc of Brockton.

The second male victim was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. He is not being identified at this time.

Brockton Police contacted State Police Detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and an investigation commenced. Preliminarily, the shooting does not appear to be a random act of violence.

The investigation by State Police Detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and Brockton Police is active and ongoing.
