BROCKTON – An Abington man has been indicted on charges that he raped a female child victim, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.
Today, a Plymouth County Grand Jury returned indictments charging Scott McCaffrey (DOB: 03/13/66) with six counts of Aggravated Rape of a Child, four counts of Indecent Assault and Battery on a Child Under 14, and one count each of Dissemination of Harmful Matter to a Minor and Lewd, Wanton and Lascivious Conduct.
In January, 2020, a female victim contacted the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office to report that during 2014 and through 2015, she had been allegedly sexually assaulted on numerous occasions by McCaffrey. Abington Police conducted an investigation and a warrant issued for McCaffrey’s arrest. McCaffrey was tracked to an address in Florida where he was arrested by local police. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, McCaffrey’s extradition back to Massachusetts was delayed and he was held in Florida before being returned here. He will be arraigned on the charges in Brockton Superior Court at a later date.
Assistant District Attorneys Jeremy Beth Kusmin and Rubi Doyle are prosecuting the case, which was investigated by Abington Police.
