Brockton Man Indicted In Fatal Hit And Run

BROCKTON – A grand jury has indicted a Brockton man for leaving the scene of a crash that left a woman dead, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.

Late Friday, a Plymouth County Grand Jury indicted Michael Blanche, 34, of Brockton, on one count each of Leaving the Scene of a Crash Causing Death and Operating a Motor Vehicle after suspension.

At approximately 6:16 p.m. on November 17, 2020, Brockton Police received a 911 call for a motor vehicle versus pedestrian crash in the area of 259 Pleasant Street. Brockton Police and emergency medical personnel responded. The female victim was located unresponsive. The victim was transported to Good Samaritan, where she was pronounced dead of her injuries. The victim was identified as 72 year-old Marie Rose Bienaime of Brockton.

Massachusetts State Police and Brockton Police detectives identified a green motor vehicle from surveillance video taken near to the scene of the crash. On November 19, 2020, at approximately 10:45 a.m., State Police along with Brockton Police located the green motor vehicle behind an abandoned residence. As a result of the ongoing investigation, Blanche was identified as the driver and he was placed under arrest.

Blanche is expected to be arraigned on the charges in Brockton Superior Court at a later date.
