Investigation Ongoing Into Fatal Bridgewater Hit And Run, Victim Identified

BROCKTON – The investigation is ongoing into a fatal hit and run in Bridgewater over the weekend, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz and Bridgewater Police Chief Christopher Delmonte have announced.

At 12:40 a.m. on Sunday, Bridgewater Police were dispatched to the intersection of Auburn and Summer Streets after a passing motorist observed an unconscious male in the roadway. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim with obvious trauma. The Bridgewater Fire Department responded to render aid, but he was pronounced dead at the scene and has been identified as 34 year-old Ian Dalgliesh of Northborough.

 Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and Bridgewater Police Detectives continue to actively investigate. Preliminarily, it has been determined that Dalgliesh was struck by a motor vehicle.
