Search Continues For Missing New Hampshire Boy In Abington

BROCKTON – Massachusetts State Police troopers along with Abington Police search a wooded area in Abington today, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.

According to the New Hampshire Department of Justice Office, Elijah “Eli” Lewis unknown whereabouts were brought to the attention of authorities by New Hampshire’s Division for Children, Youth and Families on October 14, 2021. Merrimack, New Hampshire Police immediately began an investigation, along with the New Hampshire State Police and the New Hampshire Department of Justice. Two people have been charged as a result of this investigation.   

As part of this ongoing investigation, last night, State Police assigned to our Office were notified that information was developed that lead to search of this wooded area along Chestnut Street in Abington. Based upon information corroborated by investigators, there may be evidence related to the disappearance of Elijah Lewis and that is what we are here searching for and continue to search for.

Last night, Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office were notified that information had been developed and corroborated on the boy’s whereabouts. This morning, Massachusetts State Police assigned to our office, along with Abington Police began a search of a wooded area along Chestnut Street in Abington. State Police designated several assets to the search, including the Special Emergency Response Team, K-9s, the State Police Air Wing and Command Post. New Hampshire State Police joined in the search efforts.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
