In January 2022, a clerk magistrate determined a criminal act occurred and issued a complaint. Our office arraigned the case and transferred it to another District Attorney’s Office. It would be inappropriate to comment further on a case being handled by another office.
District Attorney Cruz is and has always been a strong supporter of the rights of victims. At a time when victims are being silenced by District Attorneys who champion criminals and refuse to prosecute crimes, the wrong approach would be to refuse to prosecute crimes.
District Attorney Cruz has supported and funded domestic violence programs around the county through programming and grants.
