Holbrook Man Pleads Guilty To Human Trafficking, Child Rape Charges

BROCKTON – A Holbrook man has pleaded guilty to charges that he engaged in sexual activity with a 14 year old boy, who he paid in juul pods and Swedish fish, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.

Today, on the eve of trial, George Batchelder Jr., 52, pleaded guilty to one count each of Human Trafficking, Enticement of a Child, Under 16, and Rape of a Child. Judge Sullivan sentenced Batchelder to five years to five years and one day, with probation.  The judge imposed the agreed upon recommendation of the parties.

In October, 2018, a family member of the male juvenile victim in the case, turned a cell phone into Scituate Police Department due the nature of illicit images of the victim on the cell phone. An investigation commenced resulting in the arrest of the Defendant in January of 2019.     

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Amanda Fowle, and was investigated by Scituate Police Department.
