Two Teens Arraigned In Superior Court In Connection With Brockton Homicide

BROCKTON – Two Brockton teens were arraigned on murder charges in connection with the fatal shooting of a city man, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.

Today, Tashawn Brown, 17, of Brockton, and Jeremy Depina, 16, of Brockton, were arraigned in Brockton Superior Court, charged with one count each of Murder. On July 1, the pair were indicted on the charge for the fatal shooting of 22 year old Fabio Andrade-Monteiro.

On February 10, 2022, just after 11 p.m., Brockton Police received multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting at 102 Ash Street. Upon arrival, police located a male victim, later identified as Andrade-Monteiro, suffering from a single gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Brockton Police contacted Massachusetts State Police troopers assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and an investigation commenced. Police interviewed witnesses, reviewed surveillance video, and examined cell phone records. As a result of the investigation, two arrest warrants issued and Brown and Depina were taken into custody.  

Today, they pleaded not guilty to the charge and were held without bail. They are next scheduled to appear in court on September 20, 2022.

Assistant District Attorneys Richard Linehan and Joshua Gedraitis are prosecuting the case, which was investigated by Massachusetts State Police and Brockton Police.
