Brockton Double Homicide Suspect Added To Commonwealth Fusion Center Most Wanted List

BROCKTON – Investigators have identified a suspect wanted for fatally shooting two teens over the weekend in a Brockton mall parking lot, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.

Davinci Leonard, 22, of Brockton, was added last evening to the Massachusetts State Police Commonwealth Fusion Center’s Wanted List. Since that time, Massachusetts State Police and Brockton Police have actively been searching to arrest Leonard.

On Saturday, at approximately 7:04 p.m., Brockton Police received a 911 call for a report of a shooting outside the Chipotle located at 500 Westgate Drive. Upon arrival, first responders located two victims, a male and a female, suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital. The male victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital. He has been identified as 15 year-old Tymari Albertson. The female victim was medflighted to Massachusetts General Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. She has been identified as 18 year-old Cevannah Alvarez. The victims were not related.

Brockton Police contacted the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, and an investigation commenced.

After an around-the-clock investigation, which included witness interviews, review of video surveillance footage, and an extensive canvass of the scene, investigators developed information and sought and obtained an arrest warrant for Leonard. The Commonwealth Fusion Center composed a BOLO that was distributed to area-wide law enforcement agencies last night .

Police sought and obtained an arrest warrant out of Brockton District Court for Leonard, charging him with two counts of Murder, and one count each of Carrying a Loaded Firearm, and Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License.

Preliminarily, it appears that an altercation occurred in the parking lot in front of the Chipotle restaurant between Leonard and Albertson prior to the fatal shooting.

The investigation by Massachusetts State Police and Brockton Police remains active and ongoing.
