BROCKTON – A Middleborough man accused of fatally stabbing his mother’s partner in June was arraigned today in Brockton Superior Court, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.
Today, Andrew Horsman, 41, pleaded not guilty to one count of Murder. Following his superior court arraignment, Horsman was ordered to remain held in custody without bail.
On the evening of June 28, Middleborough Police received multiple 911 calls for a report of a fight and a man stabbed at a residence on Fairview Street. Middleborough Police and emergency medical personnel responded and located a man — identified as 66-year-old Paul Pomerleau — suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was transported to Morton Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Detectives interviewed several witnesses on scene who reported that an argument at the home over a steak dinner between Horsman and Pomerleau, who had been in a long-term relationship with Horsman’s mother, led to the fatal altercation. Horsman was ultimately taken into custody without incident.
Horsman is next scheduled to appear in court on December 3 for a pre-trial hearing.
