Two Men Killed, Another Injured In Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash In Brockton

BROCKTON – Two men were killed late Wednesday night in Brockton as a result of a single-car collision with a tree, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.

At about 11:40 p.m. Wednesday, Brockton Police received a 911 call reporting a crash on North Cary Street. Upon arrival, officers and emergency services personnel found a Honda Civic that had crashed into a tree about five yards off the roadway. The driver — identified as 20-year-old Fernando Da Silveira Jr. of Brockton — was found deceased at the scene of the crash. The front seat passenger, identified as 37-year-old Christopher Ribeiro of Brockton, was transported to a local area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. A rear seat passenger was also transported to a local hospital and received medical treatment.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner accepted jurisdiction of the case. An investigation into the crash is ongoing and being conducted by Massachusetts State Police and the Brockton Police Department.
