Cruz announced that Jose Robles, (DOB: 02/18/1983) of Brockton was arraigned today in Brockton District Court on one count of Armed Carjacking and two counts of Armed Robbery for an incident that occurred yesterday in the Westgate Mall parking lot.

The victim was leaving the mall and strapping her 11 month old daughter into the car seat when the defendant approached and brandished a pistol demanding her car.  He also demanded the victim and her mother’s purses.  The victim was able to remove her child before the defendant took off in her car.

The defendant was arraigned today before the Honorable Ronald Moynahan.  At the Commonwealth’s request, the defendant was held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing which is scheduled for February 22, 2016.  The Commonwealth was represented by the Assistant District Attorney Jonathan Schulman.
