Man Dies in Fatal House Fire in Plymouth

BROCKTON – A man has died in a fatal house fire in Plymouth, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.

At approximately 10:12 pm Wednesday, Plymouth Police and Fire received a 911 call from a neighbor in the vicinity of a single family home at 84 Ellisville Road in Plymouth reporting a house fire.

Plymouth Police and Fire responded to the scene and found the victim, Robert Drude (DOB: 12/04/51) in the entry way of the home. The victim was determined to be deceased on scene at 10:30 p.m. and Plymouth Police contacted State Police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and the State Fire Marshal’s Office to investigate.

A preliminary investigation indicates the fire is not suspicious and no foul play is suspected. The body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The fire remains under investigation by State Police assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, Plymouth Fire and Police and the Massachusetts State Fire Marshal’s Office.
