PLYMOUTH – A man was killed and two people were injured in a head-on crash in Plymouth this morning, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.

At approximately 8:29 a.m. today, Plymouth Police received a 911 call for a report of a serious motor vehicle crash at 129 State Road involving two vehicles. Plymouth Police and emergency medical personnel responded. Upon arrival, first responders observed a 2025 white Honda Civic and 2020 gray Jeep Grand Cherokee in the roadway that apparently struck head-on. The male operator of the Honda was unresponsive and trapped in the driver’s seat. He was extracted by Plymouth Fire and taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth, where he was pronounced deceased. The man has been identified as 18 year-old Matthew Wilson, of Plymouth.

The front seat passenger in the Honda, a 16 year-old juvenile, sustained injuries and was transported to South Shore Hospital. The female operator of the Jeep was also transported to South Shore Hospital for treatment.

Plymouth Police contacted the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, and an investigation commenced. Preliminarily, the investigation has determined that Wilson lost control of his Honda, crossed the solid double line, and struck the Jeep head on.

The crash remains under investigation by MSP Detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, Plymouth Police, and the MSP CARS Unit.
