BROCKTON – One man is under arrest and Massachusetts State Police seized Fentanyl, Cocaine and cash, after an investigation in Brockton, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.
During the month of August, members of the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office conducted an investigation into narcotics distribution within the city of Brockton. As a result, officers identified Claudio Oliveira, 31, as an individual allegedly distributing Fentanyl to customers from an apartment at 26 West Chestnut Street.
State Police sought and received a knock and announce search warrant for that address. At approximately 1 p.m. today, Oliveira arrived at that address and State Police Detectives along with Brockton Police, executed the warrant. As a result, State Police seized numerous plastic bags containing suspected Fentanyl, weighing approximately 205 grams, and five grams of suspected cocaine. State Police also secured more than $4,000 in cash, and drug distribution paraphernalia including scales, plastic bags and cell phones.
State Police placed Oliveira under arrest on one count each of Trafficking Fentanyl, Class A, Over 100 grams, Possession with Intent to Distribute, Class A, Fentanyl, and Possession with Intent to Distribute, Class B, Cocaine. Oliveira is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges tomorrow.
