BROCKTON- A woman has died as a result of injuries apparently suffered in a three-car crash in Brockton on Thursday, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.
At 10:23 am on Thursday, Brockton Police, Fire and emergency medical personnel responded to a three-car motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Main Street and Perkins Street. Brockton Police conducted a crash investigation at the scene. The investigation found that a vehicle operated by the female victim was traveling east on Perkins Street through an intersection at Main Street when her vehicle was struck by a black GMC Yukon. The Yukon continued on into the parking lot of Gas Depot and struck a light pole before striking another vehicle and coming to a stop.
The male driver of the stationary vehicle in the gas station parking lot was transported for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the GMC Yukon declined medical treatment at the scene and was cited by Brockton Police for a traffic violation. The 54-year-old female driver of the first vehicle struck was evaluated by EMS on scene and declined medical treatment. Later Thursday, the female driver sought medical treatment at Brockton Hospital and was then transported to Beth Israel Hospital where she died of her injuries.
Today, at 1:30 pm, State Police Detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office were notified that the female driver had died of her injuries and an investigation commenced. That investigation is ongoing by State Police Detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office, State Police CARS and Brockton Police.
