BROCKTON – A Taunton man found guilty of raping and intimidating his victim has been sentenced to more than 20 years in state prison, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.

On January 8, 2024, Stephen Boulter, 46, of Taunton was found guilty by a jury of two counts of Rape, and one count each of Witness Intimidation and Videotaping an Unsuspecting Nude Person.

Today, Boulter was sentenced in Plymouth Superior Court to serve 20 years to 20 years and one day on the Rape charges, to run concurrent. For witness intimidation, Boulter was ordered to serve 8-10 years to run concurrent, to be followed by 25 years probation, and stay away and have no contact with the victim and witness.

On January 13, 2022, Boulter contacted the victim to stay in a Middleboro hotel where he videotaped her in a sexual act while she was under the influence.

Several days later, the victim reported receiving inappropriate and threatening texts that were later determined to be sent from Boulter. Boulter additionally sent the victim cell phone video and photos of the incident, which police later extracted from Boulter’s cell phone.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Molly MacKinnon, and was investigated by Middleboro Police.
