Davinci Leonard, now 23, was wanted for a double homicide in Brockton before his arrest on February 12th in Mexico. Today, he pleaded not guilty in Brockton Superior Court to two counts of Murder, and one count each of Discharging a Firearm within 500 feet of a Dwelling, Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License, and Carrying Ammunition without an FID card. He was held without bail. Leonard is accused of killing 15-year-old Tymari Albertson and 18-year-old Cevannah Alvarez.

On March 22, 2025, at approximately 7:04 p.m., Brockton Police received a 911 call for a report of a shooting outside the Chipotle located at 500 Westgate Drive. Upon arrival, first responders located two victims, a male and a female, suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital. The male victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital, and was identified as Albertson. He was shot in the face and torso. The female victim was medflighted to Massachusetts General Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. She was identified as Alvarez, and sustained a gunshot wound to the chest.

Leonard fled the scene, and since that day authorities were searching for him and gathering information about his whereabouts. The extensive investigation by Massachusetts State Police, the MSP Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section, and the Brockton Police, included numerous witness interviews, a review of video surveillance footage, and an extensive canvass of the scene. As a result of the investigation, police sought and obtained an arrest warrant for Leonard. The Commonwealth Fusion Center composed a BOLO bulletin that was distributed to area-wide law enforcement agencies.

On February 12th, at approximately 1:30 PT, the U.S. Marshals of the Southern District of California Mexico Investigative Liaison team along with the San Diego Fugitive Task Force coordinated and facilitated the apprehension of Leonard with Fuerza Estatal de Seguridad Ciudadana (FESC). Leonard was expelled back to the United States and into the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service, and transported back to Massachusetts for his arraignment.

David Mosley-Lott, 32, of Quincy and Jaylen Speed, 25, of Dorchester have been indicted on charges in the double homicide for their alleged involvement in helping Leonard evade justice.
