BROCKTON — Massachusetts State Police Detectives and Brockton Police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a 31 year-old city man, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.
Last night at approximately 9:51 p.m., officials from Good Samaritan Hospital notified Brockton Police that they had a stabbing victim come into the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Brockton Police responded and learned that the male victim was stabbed outside a gas station located at 81 Warren Avenue. Brockton Police responded to that address, secured the scene and contacted Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services Section to investigate.
Preliminarily, it appears that the victim was involved in an altercation with another man who then stabbed the victim. The suspect fled the scene in a white motor vehicle. The victim returned to his car and an acquaintance drove him to the hospital. He was pronounced dead at 10:36 p.m. The victim is not being identified at this time.
This does not appear to be a random act of violence. The investigation is active and ongoing. Anyone with any information should contact State Police Detectives at:
