  • Review of police arrest reports
  • Investigate to determine the owner of the property
  • Certified letter sent to the property owner notifying him/her of drugs on the premises
  • The letter explains the M.G.L .Ch. 139 § 19 & §20. The landlord has the right to seek eviction of the tenant and his failure to do so may subject him/her to criminal prosecution
  • Landlords are also provided with a contact person from the police department who will be available to present evidence in court
  • Repeated drug arrest will result to a second certified letter going out to owner
  • If no action is taken by the landlord after repeated drug arrest, it will result in the filing of a criminal complaint. Under M.G.L.  Ch. 139 § 20
