Brockton Man Sentenced To State Prison For Rape

BROCKTON – A Brockton man found guilty of Rape charges has been sentenced to State Prison, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz announced today.

After a five-day trial, a Plymouth County jury deliberated approximately eight and a half hours before finding Mario Rosa (DOB: 03/06/63) of Brockton, guilty Tuesday of two counts of Rape. This morning, Brockton Superior Court Judge Richard Chin sentenced Rosa to serve four to six years in State Prison to be followed by probation for five years.

Rosa was on trial for raping a female victim at a Brockton home during the evening hours of October 13, 2014, while the victim was intoxicated and asleep. The victim contacted Brockton Police the following afternoon to report the rape, and an investigation began. Rosa was arrested on October 30, 2014 by Brockton Police.

Assistant District Attorneys Mary Nguyen and Alexander Zane prosecuted the case, which was investigated by Brockton Police.
