Tony Semedo-Cardoso (DOB: 07/12/88) was arraigned today in Brockton District Court on one count of Murder in the death of 16 year-old Alberto “Walter” Rui Tavares of Brockton.
At approximately 1:12 am on Friday, Brockton Hospital notified Brockton Police that a person who had been dropped off at the hospital emergency room suffering from a gunshot wound had died. Brockton Police contacted State Police Detectives and an investigation commenced.

As a result of the investigation, State Police sought and obtained an arrest warrant for Semedo-Cardoso. He was taken into custody by State Police and Brockton Police shortly after 10 am this morning.
Semedo-Cardoso pleaded not guilty at his arraignment. He is next scheduled to appear in court on October 16.
