State Police, Brockton Police Investigating Fatal Overnight Shooting In Brockton

BROCKTON – State Police and Brockton Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 31 year-old Fall River man in the city overnight, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz announced today.

At approximately 1:43 am today, ShotSpotter alerted Brockton Police to shots fired in the vicinity of Grand Street and Main Street. Simultaneously, Brockton Police received several 911 calls reporting shots fired in the area of Grand Street. Brockton Police responded to the area and collected evidence as part of their investigation. At approximately 5 am today, Brockton Police received 911 calls reporting a shooting victim that was located behind 1040 Main Street. Brockton Police, Fire and emergency medical personnel responded and the male victim was located and transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton where he was pronounced dead of his injuries. He has been identified as 31 year-old Marco Rodrigues of Fall River.

Brockton Police contacted State Police Detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and an investigation commenced. That investigation remains active and ongoing. Anyone with any information on the shooting is urged to contact State Police Detectives at 508-897-5234.
