State Police Make Arrest In Brockton Homicide

BROCKTON — State Police Detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and Brockton Police have arrested a man in connection with the fatal shooting of a man on Friday, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.

At approximately 11:26 pm on Friday, Brockton Police were alerted by Shotspotter and received several 911 calls reporting a shooting in the vicinity of 47 Highland Street. Police and emergency medical personnel responded and found a male victim in the parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton where he was pronounced dead. The 32 year-old man has been identified as Earl Thomas of New Bedford.

Yesterday at approximately 1:10 pm, State Police Detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office sought and received an arrest warrant for Queito Miranda (DOB 04/29/1990) of Brockton for Murder. At approximately 1:25 pm, Miranda was located and placed under arrest in Worcester. Miranda was booked at the Worcester Police Department and transported to the Brockton Police Department to be held. He is scheduled to be arraigned on the Murder charge in Brockton District Court tomorrow.
