Police Seek Public’s Assistance In Locating Driver Involved In Fatal Hit And Run Crash In Bridgewater

BROCKTON – Massachusetts State Police and Bridgewater Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the driver involved in a fatal hit and run in Bridgewater, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz and Bridgewater Police Chief Christopher Delmonte have announced.

 At 12:40 a.m. on March 7, Bridgewater Police were dispatched to the intersection of Auburn and Summer Streets after a passing motorist observed an unconscious male in the roadway. Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim with obvious trauma. The Bridgewater Fire Department responded to render aid, but the male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as 34 year-old Ian A. Dalgliesh of Northborough, pictured below.

Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and Bridgewater Police Detectives have determined that Dalgliesh was struck by a motor vehicle and are seeking information in connection with the crash. Anyone in the area of Auburn, Flagg and Summer Streets in Bridgewater between 11:30 p.m. and 12:40 a.m. on March 7 are urged to contact Bridgewater Police Detectives at 508-697-6118, or Massachusetts State Police Detectives at 508-894-2600.
