Massachusetts State Police, Brockton Police Investigating Pedestrian Fatal

BROCKTON – A Brockton pedestrian was struck and killed by a motorist this morning, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.

At approximately 6:36 a.m., Brockton Police received a 911 call for a report of a female struck by a motor vehicle in the vicinity of Ash and West Chestnut Streets. Brockton Police responded and located a female victim suffering from injuries. The woman was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. She has been identified as 50 year-old Chafang Wu of Brockton.

Brockton Police contacted Massachusetts State Police troopers assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and an investigation commenced. Preliminarily, it appears that a motorist operating a Toyota Prius, was traveling along the roadway when they struck the victim. That motorist immediately stopped the vehicle at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing. No foul play is suspected.
