BROCKTON – A Plymouth County Grand Jury has returned a Murder indictment against Soi Ket Dang, DOB 11/07/83, of Halifax for the November 16, 2015 murder of Marissa Randall, DOB 02/24/1996 of Revere, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.

On Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at approximately 1:13 pm, officers from the Halifax Police Department arrived at 46A Wamsutta Avenue in Halifax to inquire about a missing 16 year old girl from Duxbury.  They found the girl there with the defendant, Soi Ket Dang, DOB 11/07/83.  Once back at the Duxbury Police station, the girl told police that the defendant had killed someone the night before, had the body in a closet, and that she had seen blood inside the home.  The Halifax police responded to Wamsutta Avenue again and observed blood inside the home.  A subsequent search warrant led police to the discovery of the body of Marissa Randall and the possible murder weapon, a hunting knife.

The victim had multiple stab wounds on her body and the Medical Examiner’s Office determined the wounds caused her death.  Investigators learned that the victim and defendant had met on the website “Meetme”.

The defendant is currently held without bail and will be arraigned in the Brockton Superior Court at a later date.

The case was investigated by the State Police assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and the Halifax Police.  The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Sprague.
