BROCKTON — State Police Detectives and Brockton Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man early Friday morning, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz announced today.
At 12:46 am on Friday, Brockton Police received a Shotspotter notification of one shot fired in the area of Intervale Street in Brockton. Brockton Police responded to the area to investigate and found no evidence.
At approximately 1:12 am, Brockton Hospital notified Brockton Police that a person who had been dropped off at the hospital emergency room suffering from a gunshot wound had died.
Brockton Police contacted State Police Detectives and an investigation commenced. That investigation is active and ongoing. The shooting victim is not being identified at this time.
