BROCKTON – A jury has convicted a Whitman man of raping a woman at a house party, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz announced today.

After a 5-day trial, a Plymouth County jury deliberated 2 ½ hours before finding Daniel Nash (DOB: 9/4/85) of Whitman, guilty of two counts of Rape, and one count each of Indecent Assault and Battery on a Person over 14 and Photographing an Unsuspecting Person in the Nude. Brockton Superior Court Judge Robert Gordon will sentence Nash on December 13, 2018.

In January, 2014, Nash held a birthday party at his home in Whitman. The female victim arrived at the party and stayed overnight. The following morning, the victim woke up and contacted Whitman Police to report that she had been sexually assaulted by a person at the party, believed to be Nash, and the victim believed there was videotape of the incident.

Whitman Police investigated and interviewed, Nash who admitted to the assault. Nash consented to a search of his cell phone by Whitman Police, where a video of the incident was located.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Sprague and was investigated by Whitman Police.
