BROCKTON – A New Bedford woman has been indicted on a charge that she had sexual relations with an inmate while she worked as a corrections officer, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.

Today, a Plymouth County Grand Jury returned an indictment against 53 year-old Vicki Oliver of New Bedford, charging her with one count of Sexual Relations with an Inmate by a Corrections Officer. Today’s indictment follows an investigation by State Police assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and the Department of Corrections.

On February 17, 2019, a fellow corrections officer at the Massachusetts Treatment Center in Bridgewater reported to corrections officials that they had witnessed Oliver having sexual intercourse with the victim, a male inmate at the treatment center.

As part of the investigation, State Police and officials with the Department of Corrections interviewed the victim, who stated that he and Oliver had a sexual relationship between July, 2018 through February, 2019.

Oliver will be arraigned on the charge at a later date in Brockton Superior Court.
