BROCKTON – A Norton couple and their corporation have been indicted on Larceny charges after they allegedly took tens of thousands of dollars from a couple who had hired them to build a new home, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz announced today.

Late yesterday, a Plymouth County Grand Jury indicted David Welch and Karen Welch, both 60, of Norton, and their dissolved corporation D.K.W. Builders, Inc., formerly of Easton, on one count each of Larceny over $250 by Embezzlement.

The indictments allege and an investigation by Brockton Police found that on diverse dates between December, 2015 and July, 2016, the Welches, doing business as D.K.W. Builders, diverted more than $60,000 from the victims, who had hired D.K.W. to build their new home in Brockton.

The Welches will be arraigned on the Superior Court indictments at a later date.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Russell Eonas and was investigated by Brockton Police.
