State Police and Brockton Police Continue to Investigate Shooting that Left Brockton Man Dead, Woman Injured

BROCKTON – Two people were shot, one fatally outside a Brockton house overnight, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.

At approximately 12:02 am Monday, Brockton Police received notification from ShotSpotter Gunshot and Location Detector Service of shots fired in the area of Myrtle Street. Simultaneously, Brockton Police began receiving 911 calls reporting shots fired at the intersection of Myrtle and Blaine Streets.

On scene, Brockton Police learned that a 26-year-old male victim, whose identity is being withheld at this time due to the ongoing, active, criminal investigation, had been transported by a passerby in a private car to Brockton Hospital. The victim was shot multiple times and was pronounced dead of his injuries.

Brockton emergency personnel transported a 20-year-old female shooting victim to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment of what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries. She was transferred in to Boston Medical Center for further treatment.

State Police assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and Brockton Police are conducting interviews and canvasses and executing search warrants as part of their investigation. The shootings occurred hours after a large, city-permitted party was held at a residence located at 116 Myrtle Street.
