Man Dies In Plymouth House Fire

BROCKTON – A 58 year-old man died in a house fire today, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz and State Fire Marshal Peter J. Ostroskey have announced.

At approximately 1:00 pm today, Plymouth Police received a 911 call from a neighbor reporting that #164 Raymond Road, a single family home, was on fire. Plymouth Fire and Police responded and located the sole occupant of the home, a 58 year-old male, unresponsive inside. Lifesaving measures were performed by first responders on scene, and the victim was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital- Plymouth. He was pronounced dead at 2:07 pm today. He has been identified at William Hunt III.

Plymouth Police and Fire officials contacted State Police Detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and the Office of the State Fire Marshal and an investigation commenced. That investigation is ongoing tonight but preliminarily, there is no foul play suspected. The state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner accepted jurisdiction and will determine the exact cause and manner of death.
