“Puppy Love”- A Discussion on Healthy Relationships with Teens
We held our first “Puppy Love” event at Ventress Memorial Library in Marshfield today with our Plymouth County Comfort Dogs.
Our DV Coordinator Collette Puleo and Det. Sgt. Bobby McEvoy from Bridgewater State University led a discussion on healthy relationships and friendships with teens.
Participants met 5 of our Plymouth County Comfort Dogs:
* BSU Comfort Dog Mikey and her handler Det. Sgt. Bobby McEvoy
* Hull Comfort Dog Peddocks and his handler, Officer Leanne Marshalsea
* Pembroke Comfort Dog Sasha and her handler Officer MaryBeth Simmons
* Plymouth Sheriff’s Dept. Comfort Dog Starr and his handler Deputy Dennis Desroches
* Boys & Girls Club Comfort Dog Dezi and his handler Jim Bunnelle. -
2023 Domestic Violence Toiletry Drive- Thank you Hingham and Hull Police Departments
Our thanks to Chief Jones and Chief Dunn of the Hingham and Hull Police Departments for making our 4th Annual Domestic Violence Toiletry Drive a huge success.
Special thanks to the anonymous Hingham resident who donated 20 Target gift cards.
These items will greatly benefit victims in need.

Love Life Now Foundation’s Annual Gala 2023
District Attorney Cruz and his staff attended the Love Life Now Foundation Gala.Each February, we pause and rededicate ourselves to putting an end to domestic violence by taking the White Ribbon Campaign Pledge.
Our office is proud to partner with Lovern Gordon and her foundation, and we look forward to continuing that work.

Teen Dating Violence Presentation- New Heights Charter School- January 2023
Thanks to Pastor Gilbert for asking our office’s Domestic Violence Unit to present on healthy vs. unhealthy relationships today to 150 11th and graders from New Heights Charter School here in Brockton.

White Ribbon Day
The staff of the District Attorney’s Office took the challenge and made the White Ribbon Pledge to put an end to domestic violence.

Hopeline Cell Phone Drive for Domestic Violence
In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office conducted a HopeLine Cell Phone drive.
Cell Phones were collected at the District Attorney’s Office as well as local Police Departments.
The Verizon Wireless HopeLine® program collects no-longer-used wireless phones, batteries and accessories in any condition from any wireless service provider through phone drives and at Communications Stores nationwide. Phones that can be refurbished are sold and those without value are disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.
Proceeds are used to provide wireless phones, air time and cash grants to local shelters and non-profit organizations that focus on domestic violence prevention and awareness.

Greater Brockton Area Task Force on Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence
The Greater Brockton Area Task Force on Sexual Assault and Domestic violence asked District Attorney Timothy Cruz to serve on a panel to discuss the issue of Domestic Violence. Lt. Governor Karyn Polito, Executive Director of the Governor’s Council on Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence, Tammy Mello, and Ruth Zakarin also served on the panel.
The forum was held by the Women’s Resource Center at Massasoit Community College.

Domestic Violence Awareness Day
The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office participated in the Domestic Violence Awareness Day, which was held on October 17, 2016 in the Student Union at Massasoit Community College.
Representatives from our office were on hand to offer resources and information.
